There is a rise in the total number of jobs offered for domestic roles this year. A student of the Indian Institute of Technology has received an offer of the highest domestic package of Rs 1.8 crore.

Vinay Sharma, professor in charge, Placement and Internship Cell, IIT Roorkee shared, “Keeping the current job market in mind, we made our strategy accordingly and tied up with the best of the companies across sectors including AI, software, networks to finance and manufacturing among others. We also ensured great diversification in the profiles which resulted in more offers extended to the students in the companies specific to their interests.”

A student of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has received an offer of ?2.15 crore per annum. Again a student of IIT Bombay was offered roughly around ?2.05 crore by Uber and another student of IIT Guwahati has been offered ?2 crores per annum this year.

IITB International And Domestic Offers

The highest offer after Uber came from Rubrik, a cloud data management startup based in Palo Alto, California, the United States with a package worth Rs 90.6 lakh (about $121,000).

Investment management business Millennium chose students for the first spot in the domestic roles, offering a package of Rs 62 lakh.

WorldQuant, LLC which is an international hedge fund and quantitative investment management firm offered Rs 52.7 lakh and Blackstone Inc. which is an American alternative investment management company based in New York City offered Rs 46.6 lakh.

IIT-Madras International Offers

11 international offers were made at IIT-Madras on the day according to professor CS Shankar Ram, adviser (training and placement), IIT Madras. 

So there were 407 offers in the first session of the placements, its best ever, including 231 PPOs.

11 students received offers worth more than Rs 1 crore, with 10 receiving domestic offers and 13 accepting international offers, with 12 opting for packages less than Rs 1 crore to work in Japan and Singapore.
