The cost of Tata Nexon has been hiked by Rs.11,000 depending on the model version.
Its price will now range from Rs 7.30 lakh for the base XE petrol to Rs 13.35 lakh for the XZA+ (O) dual-tone trim.

Variants Costing The Same
It should be noted that the prices of certain variants such as the petrol and diesel XZ+ manual variants remain unchanged.
Also unaffected by the hike are the petrol XZ+ and XZA+ Dark Editions and sunroof equipped-diesel XM (S) trim.
Success Story
The Nexon enjoyed popularity ever since it made its debut in late 2017, soon becoming the second best-selling sub-compact SUV in India.
Sales have been driven by its stellar five-star Global NCAP safety rating with 16.06 points out of 17, making it India’s highest ever rated car.
Its sales also saw a resurgence after its facelift with BS6 engine was introduced last year.
It also saw an improvement in performance along with better features.
Diesel Trims Discontinued
Five of its diesel trims, namely XE, XZ, XMA, XMA (S) and XZA+ S, have also been discontinued.
This could be due to dwindling sales ever since the stricter BSVI emission standards came into effect in April 2020.
Ever since then, diesel engines in the below Rs.10 lakh space have shrunk in presence.
Current Lineup
Another factor can be the price gap between petrol and diesel fuels getting narrower which encourages customers to buy gasoline cars instead of the oil-burners.
The current available trims are XE, XM, XZ, XZ+ and XZ+ (O).
The SUV’s diesel range now starts with the mid-spec XM variant.
Powertrain, Transmission
The Tata Nexon runs on a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with maximum power output of 120 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque.
Another engine on offer is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel which delivers 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque.
Both are paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed AMT as an option.
Its competitors include Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300 and Honda WR-V.
Upcoming Next Gen Model
The next generation Nexon is also in the works which is expected to launch in 2023.
It will be designed and developed on the new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Architecture) platform that underpins the Altroz.
It will receive styling upgrades, a better equipped cabin and more refined engine and gearbox combinations.
It could also get a mild hybrid tech which could help achieve higher efficiency.
The AMT could be replaced by a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
