Reliance Jio Has Also Increased Voice, Data Plans By Upto Rs 500 After Airtel, Vi: Check New Plans From Jio

Now, this was really expected, but we didn’t know that it would happen so fast.

After Airtel and Vi (formerly Vodafone) hiked their prepaid plans, Reliance Jio too has announced a steep hike in their prepaid plans, covering both voice and data.

With the new pricing model, Jio’s prepaid plans will be now as expensive as 20%, compared to old plans.

This basically means that except BSNL, every telecom user in India will have to shell out more to avail data and voice services: be it Airtel, Jio or Vi.

New Plans From Jio: 20% Expensive

Reliance Jio has officially announced that their prepaid plans will be no more expensive, and users will need to pay more money now.

In a statement, Jio said, “In line with its commitment to further strengthen a sustainable telecom industry, where every Indian is empowered with a true digital life, Jio today announced its new unlimited plans,”

For millions of Reliance Jio customers, Rs 91 will be the minimum prepaid plan for recharge, and for 2GB data per day for 56 days, users will need to pay Rs 533, instead of Rs 444.

Here are all the new plans by Jio:

Jio has promised that the new plans are best in the industry, and that we agree, because now, all three major telecom operators are demanding almost same charges for the existing plans.

The USP will now be solely quality of service and the speed of network.

Airtel, Vi Also Announced Price Hike

Last week, we reported that first Airtel, then Vodafone announced price hike of their prepaid plans, by as much as 20-25%. As per some reports, telecom operators can lose millions of users due to this price hike.

In some cases, the users will need to pay upto Rs 500 more for the new plans.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
