Samsung To Hire 1000 Engineers From Top Indian IIT Colleges

More than 1000 engineers will be hired from top engineering colleges in India.

These include the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), and many more.

The engineers will be hired for the company’s Bengaluru, Delhi, and Noida offices.

Sameer Wadhawan, senior vice president and head of human resources at Samsung India confirmed the news, “ As businesses continue to expand and grow, we will be hiring 1000 plus engineers for our R&D [research and development] centres from top notch engineering colleges. These engineers will work at our R&D centres located in Bangalore, Delhi and Noida.”

Students From Various Streams To Be Hired

The company is planning to hire students from various streams, such as computer science, electronics and communications, electrical engineering, mathematics and computing, instrumentation, and information technology.

Wadhawan has also stated that one-fourth (260) engineers will be hired from all IITs and the balance will be hired from other tier one colleges.

The company’s agenda of strengthening its R&D centers is the main motive behind this recruitment drive.

Samsung and NSDC have agreed to collaborate on the ‘Samsung DOST’ initiative, which will provide students with 200 hours of combined classroom and online training.

The digital and offline skills training project aims to prepare 50,000 youth in the country for jobs in the electronics retail sector in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Through its statewide skills training centers, NSDC will assist Samsung in implementing the initiative.

Customer interaction, managing sales counters, addressing customer enquiries, product demonstration and selling abilities, and various other soft skills, including post-Covid etiquettes, are all part of the programme, which will prepare them for a career in electronics retail.
