Good news for Mumbaikars!

People who use to travel in local trains in Mumbai and surrounding cities are now allowed to book train tickets on their smartphones according to the announcement from the Central Railways.

This move will further help to cope up with the demand but the only mandatory condition is one must be fully vaccinated and completed 14 days after the second dose.

Are you aware of the UTS Mobile APP?

The Central Railways has linked the UTS Mobile app with the Maharashtra government’s Universal Pass, allowing fully vaccinated local commuters to book tickets on their phones, according to General Manager Anil Kumar Kumar Lahoti.

“The UTS app for Android is already available and the iOS app will be available by tonight. So, this facility of UTS app for local train passes can be used from tomorrow morning,”

According to the most recent revisions, the UTS will be linked to the Cowin application to determine passenger vaccination status.

Western Railway General Manager Alok Kansal has specified that the discussion is in the final stage with the state government on resuming the UTS application. Also, the applications will be merged for easy and smooth performance.

Relaxation In Travel Rules For Below 18 Years

In the first week of November, there was news that people below 18 years who are not eligible for vaccination were allowed to board local trains in Mumbai. But people must ensure that they take care of the rules such as Use of masks and Social distancing and sanitisation in the college campus to prevent -19 outbreak.

During October the state administration added a few more points that need to be followed. Firstly all the people must take both doses of a Covid vaccine (and have been 14 days since the second).

But in case someone has any medical condition that prevents them from taking a shot needs a doctor’s certificate to prove it.
