Google Pixel 5a India Launch Update: To Happen Or Not?

Google Pixel 5a India launch cancelled? Google unveiled the Pixel 5a with 5G support a while back, and it was being expected in India during Diwali. Many hint at the cancellation of Pixel 5a launch in India, but there are still some strong chances. Google released the Pixel 4a 4G version in India last September, and it still keeps the doors open for Pixel 5a India release. The device was earlier expected to release in early October, but it’s yet to be confirmed.

Google Pixel 5a India Launch Update: To Happen Or Not?

The company is yet to confirm Pixel 5a India release date, and the Diwali-period did seem the probable time for the release of Pixel 5a 5G in the country, but sadly it didn’t happen.

Google recently confirmed Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not coming to India because of multiple factors. As stated by a publication in an email from the Google spokesperson, it was stated “due to a variety of factors including global demand-supply issues, we are not able to make our products available in all markets”.

The spokesperson further added that Google will remain committed to the current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to more countries in the future.

This was no surprise. Google also didn’t launch the recent flagships in the country, including the Pixel 4 series, Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G.

Now the successor to the very popular Google mid-ranger from last year, Pixel 5a 5G still has some room to launch in the country which packs in a decent set of specifications, most importantly a midrange phone and not a flagship.

Google Pixel 5a comes with an OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, 12MP primary camera, 16MP wide angle rear camera and a 4,680mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Google Pixel 4a launched last year at Rs 31,999 during the Flipkart Big Billion Day 2020, and Pixel 5a India launch does depend on a number of factors, if not anything can be expected by the end of the year now.
