What Reliance Industries Limited Has To Say On This?
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) stated on Friday that the Ambani family has no plans to relocate to London or live there. RIL purchased Stoke Park, Britain’s historic country club and luxury golf resort, for £57 million in April of this year (Rs 592 crore).
“A recent report in a newspaper has led to unwarranted and baseless speculation in social media regarding the Ambani family’s plans to partly reside in Stoke Park, London. Reliance will like to clarify that the chairman and his family have no plans whatsoever to relocate or reside in London or anywhere else in the world,”
The company said in a statement today.
Reason Of Purchase
RIL today explained that its group company Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Ltd (RIIHL), which recently purchased the Stoke Park estate, plans to develop it into premier golf and athletic resort while adhering to all planning requirements and local legislation.
The acquisition of Stoke Park estate will add to the fast-growing consumer business of the group. “Simultaneously, it will also expand the footprint of India’s famed hospitality industry globally,” it said.
