Festive Rush: Indian Railways Starts These 26 New Trains; No Reservation Needed!


Passengers will have to adhere to Covid-19 protocol.

The Indian Railways will operate special reserved trains as unreserved trains in the East Central Railway zone from October 26.

Catering To Festive Demand

13 pairs of special trains will run with unreserved seats.

Reserved second sleeper class coaches have been converted to unreserved coaches.

The move adds convenience for travelers who can buy tickets for the unreserved coaches just a few minutes before the train’s departure.

Trains To UP, Bihar

The national transporter has also announced several festive special trains to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, of which two of them will depart from Mumbai.

The services will also be available to those living in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

A train from Mumbai destined for Banaras and another destined for Bhagalpur will ply between October 27 and November 17.

In-Train Provisions To Restart

On-board catering services and other amenities which were suspended due to the pandemic will likely restart.

The decision comes after high demand from passengers and railway personnel for these basic facilities.

The final call will be taken in a meeting convened by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.


If the go-ahead is given, food catering business and other services, such as providing bedrolls and blankets will start being offered.
