These Govt Employees Will Get 30-Day Salary As Diwali Bonus: Non-Productivity Linked Bonus

The recipients should not be covered by any other bonus or ex-gratia scheme.

Certain Central Government employees will receive Non-Productivity Linked Bonus (Ad-hoc Bonus) equivalent to 30 days emoluments for 2020-21.

Beneficiaries

This applies to Central Government employees in Group ‘C’ and all non-gazetted employees in Group ‘B’, who are not covered by any Productivity Linked Bonus Scheme.

The Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance said that the bonus will also be given to “eligible employees of Central Para Military Forces and Armed Forces”.

Employees of the Union Territory Administration who pursue the Central Government emolument scheme are also covered.

The main condition is that the recipients should not be covered by any other bonus or ex-gratia scheme.

Conditions

The benefit will be admissible subject to the following conditions:

  • Only those employees who were in service as on 31-3-2021 and have worked continuously for at least six months during the year 2020-21
  • Casual laborers who worked in offices 6 days week for at least 240 days (or 5 day-week and 206 days a year) for each year for 3 years or more
  • The quantum of ad-hoc bonus will be calculated based on average emoluments/calculation ceiling, whichever is lower

Calculation

Non-PLB (Ad-hoc bonus) for one day can be calculated by dividing the average emoluments in a year by 30.4 (average number of days in a month).

This amount will be multiplied by the number of days of bonus granted.

In cases where the actual emoluments fall below Rs.1200 per month, the amount will be calculated on actual monthly emoluments.
