Work From Home Ends For All Vaccinated TCS Employees; 70% Staff Fully Vaccinated

Everyone talked about the normal when pandemics hit the country. Old normal and new normal became catchphrases to talk about. Many predicted that there is no going back to the old normal in any way. And to some extent, this might be true. This ongoing pandemic has certainly changed the way Human Beings make their choices and interact with each other.

Working from the office was certainly a huge deal before the pandemic. But, it has certainly changed now. Working from home has become the new norm and it is here to stay in some form or other.

But it looks like IT major TCS might just be making an attempt at going back to the old normal, at least up to some extent.

TCS unveils plan to bring employees back to offices

Recently TCS announced its plans to bring back employees to office desks. This comes after the latest findings which revealed that 70% of its staff are fully vaccinated and over 95% have got at least one shot.

We plan to gradually bring back our workforce in office by the end of this year, said Milind Lakkad, CHRO, TCS

The company has already opened its doors for Senior Level employees. Senior Level employees with full vaccination status are welcome to come to the office already, the company management has announced.

“We all look forward to welcoming our employees with a desired level of flexibility,” the statement also read.

The company strengthens its workforce and finances

TCS has added 19,690 employees on a net basis in the quarter ended in September. This has resulted in a total employee base of 528,748 as of September 30. 

It should be noted that in the last six months, TCS has been on a hiring spree and has hired a record number of 43,000 fresh graduates.

The company also plans to further hire 35,000 fresh graduates in the second half of the current financial year. This will raise the total number of fresh graduates hired by the company to 78,000.

At the same time, the attrition rate of TCS during the September quarter was 11.9%, the lowest in the industry. But it is an increase from 8.6% in the previous quarter

According to a report, 29% rise in consolidated net profit at ?9,624 crores in the September quarter, while the revenue rose 17%.
