Multinational technology corporation, Microsoft has now teamed up with the Indian government to launch DigiSaksham, a digital skills programme.
Digital skills are highly in demand by top league IT services providing companies and DigiSaksham will also provide more than 3,00,000 youth with technical skills in the first year.
Government of India And Microsoft India Launch DigiSaksham
DigiSaksham has been launched by the Union Labour and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav in collaboration with Microsoft. This is a digital skills programme that will increase the employability of the youth by teaching them digital skills.
The Central Government’s joint initiative with Microsoft India is an extension of the government’s ongoing programmes that will support the youth from rural and semi urban areas. The Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has stated that the fast paced technology upgradations, reskilling, constant skilling and up-skilling is very necessary in today’s day.
The job seekers can access the training under the DigiSkasham programme through the National Career Service Portal. There are three types of training available, Digital Skills self-paced learning, VILT mode training and ILT mode training (instructor-led).
The ILT training is an in-person training and it will be conducted at the Model Career Centres (MCCs) and National Career Service Centres (NCSC) for the SCs/STs across the country.
As per reports, the DigiSaksham initiative will be implemented in India in the field by Aga Khan Rural Support Programme India (AKRSP-I). Microsoft India will be roping in Aga Khan Rural Support Programme- India and its knowledge partner TMI e2E Academy.
Highly Demanded Digital Skills That Will Be Taught At DigiSaksham
One crore active job seekers that are registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal will be able to access the training in areas such as Data visualization, JAVA Script, Power Bi, Advanced Excel, programming languages, introduction to coding etc.
Jobseekers will also be able to access the Microsoft learning resources such as data analytics, programming languages, advanced digital productivity, software development fundamentals on the National Career Service portal.
With industries all around the globe showing such heavy reliance on technical support and cloud services, job opportunities and hiring in the IT sector is on an uncontrolled spree.
About over 1.21 lakh employees have been hired by the top ten IT companies in India until June 2021. Looking at such high hiring numbers, experts in the domain have predicted that the total number of hirings can reach as high as 2 lakh by the end of this year.
With the hiring and demand getting streamlined, employers are now willing to pay over 50-70% joining hikes, to meet the demand for the right candidate.
