Tata Punch Price Leaked: Starting At Rs 4.99 Lakh, Top Variant Can Be Rs 8.29 Lakh

The highly anticipated launch will compete against Altroz, Nexon, Harrier and Safari.

Larger Dimensions

It boasts of higher dimensions than rivals Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100.

It is 3,840mm in length, 1,822 mm in width and 1,635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,450mm.

This makes it larger than the Maruti Ignis, despite being Tata’s smallest SUV.

It will be positioned between the Tiago and Nexon in the company lineup.

According to the Tata Punch Facebook group, the cheapest model will sell for Rs 4.99 lakhs and the costliest would be at Rs 8.29 lakh.

Pricing Details

  • Tata Punch XE MT base variant is expected to be priced from Rs 4.99 lakhs 
  • Punch XM could be priced at Rs 4.49 lakh
  • Punch XT is Rs 6.29 lakh
  • Punch AMT XTA is priced from Rs 6.99 lakh
  • Tata Punch XZ could be priced from Rs 7.49 lakh while Its top variant could cost Rs 7.69 lakh. 
  • Tata Punch XZA AMT could come in at Rs 8.29 lakh

The pricing structure is not confirmed officially by the company.

However, one can surmise that it wants to tackle the B-segment hatchbacks and challenge other sub-compact SUVs including the Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite.

Exterior Features

The 5-seater SUV will come with 90 degree opening doors as are seen on the Altroz.

Its exterior is shaped by 16 inch diamond cut dual tone alloy wheels, a sloping roofline and heavily styled C pillars.

It also gets a split headlamp with triarrow design, new front fascia, squared off wheel arches, body cladding and rear wiper and washer.

Interiors

It also borrows a semi digital instrument cluster from the Altroz.

Features here include analogue readouts for speedometer along with a 7 inch colour display for gear position indicator, RPM, fuel level, trip meter and distance to empty.

Safety

Safety features comprise dual front airbags, rear parking sensors with camera and ABS with EBD.

Along with a three spoke, flat bottom steering wheel, the car comes with features such as Automatic climate control, cruise control, auto adjustable ORVMs and engine start/stop button.

Powertrain And Transmission

The Punch will come exclusively with a petrol engine which also powers the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz.

The 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine offers 86 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm torque at 3,300 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual and AMT automatic transmission.

An electric version could also be developed at a later date.

Pre-Orders

Official bookings will start only on the launch date but prebookings have already begun.

One has to shell out a token amount of Rs 5,000 to Rs 21,000.
