For The Customer

The move has been made in order to enhance customer convenience and accessibility.

Apart from customer convenience, it would also support cashless transactions (digital payments) and contact less ticketing where physically visiting the point of sale is not required.

The system can be used online and passengers can choose between paperless or paper ticket mode.

Different Ticket Types

They can choose their preferred type of tickets, either a Journey ticket, Season ticket booking/renewal or Platform ticket booking.

The app is developed in-house by Indian Railways’ subsidiary – Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

It is available on all platforms for free, such as Apple iOS and Android.

How To Book A Ticket

Download the UTS mobile app.

Register your mobile number on the app.

Create your ID.

Choose between either Book & Paper (Paperless) and Book & Print (Paper).

Note: If you select the paperless route, there will be no need to collect the ticket from the ticket vending machine at the station.

Advantages

Customers will no longer have  to wait in queues for tickets.

The app is environmentally friendly since it is paperless.

The ticket on the app can be shown to the TTE in the offline mode without any internet connection.

Bookings can be made on the run as passengers who make last-minute travel plans can simply reach the station, scan the QR code displayed at various points of the station, and book the ticket.

UTS is a fully cashless facility as passengers can use digital payment options such as rail-wallet, debit card, credit card, UPI, net banking, and e-wallet.

Passengers who use Rail-Wallet facility are given a 5% bonus on recharge.

For example, if a passenger recharges his Wallet for Rs 1,000, he/she gets the recharge value of Rs 1,050.
