One of the leading IT services providers of India, TCS, is now planning to roll back its work from home policy for 90% of its employees.
However, this will also depend on the occurrence of the third wave of the pandemic.
TCS To End Work From Home Policy; Employees To Return To Workplaces
The company plans to ask some of its associates to come back to their workplaces at the beginning. This will be before the company switches to the 25/25 model. This model will have only 25% of its employees coming into office by 2025 and the rest working remotely.
As per reports, this model will be carried out in a phased and flexible manner and it will also be dependent on the respective team leaders.
As per a spokesperson of the company, “Our priority is to get over 5 lakh people and their dependents vaccinated. Three months back, we had launched one of the biggest corporate vaccination drives in over 125 cities across India, for our associates and their dependents. Over 90% of our workforce and their families have already received the first dose. We aim to complete their second dose soon.”
We recently reported that the company is now planning to ask more than 80% of its employees to start working from their workplaces. As per the CEO of TCS Rajesh Gopinath this scenario depends on the third wave of the Covid 19 Nick and what is the end of 2021 or early next year the company will be calling back 70 to 80% of its employees back to their workplaces.
TCS To Ask 80-90% Employees To Return To Work
There also was news that amidst ease of pandemic induced restrictions, Infosys and Wipro are also looking to bring their employees back.
TCS will initially ask 80-90% of its employees to return.
Eventually, it will turn to a hybrid model under which only 25% of its staff will work from office by 2025, which it calls its Vision 25×25.
With the switch to remote work, talent is being sourced across the world and is not limited to certain locations. TCS’ Mr Subramaniam is calling this “cloud-shoring”, a concept the future of software services will rest on.
Using cloud technology, TCS wants to build the world’s largest distributed virtual talent marketplace.
