Whatsapp’s Biggest Change: Now Access Whatsapp On 4 Devices At The Same Time!

Whether Facebook changed the world for good or worse, is a debatable question. At the end of the day, it depends upon us, humans, how we make use of any novel technology.

Facebook owning Whatsapp is no new news. Facebook identified the winning horse at the right time and kept on improving it incrementally. Still, there was one problem that was bugging the users for ages. Google allows you to log into its account on multiple devices at the same time. Many other companies also follow the same practice. But till now it was unavailable on Whatsapp. It seems like the company has finally decided to solve this problem once and for all.

Latest Beta version for iOS comes with a new feature

In its latest rollout across iOS, WhatsApp’s beta program has finally allowed it’s all users on the latest version of WhatsApp to access the multi-device option.

With this new feature, now, you will be able to use a WhatsApp account across up to four devices including a macOS/Windows computer, a Facebook Portal, or a device running a WhatsApp Web session. Still, the users cannot link a secondary phone to their main account.

Keeping device online is not necessary anymore

Users on the latest 2.21.180.14 version of WhatsApp for iOS who’ve enrolled in the beta program will be able to make use of this feature. They will get a multi-device prompt under the Linked Devices section within Settings.

The big relief in this updated feature of using multi-device support is that you don’t have to keep your phone online. Such a case was not there in the earlier available service of WhatsApp Web. You can add a new device by scanning a new QR code with your phone just like the way it is done in the case of WhatsApp Web.

According to the reports, the time it takes to link a new device will vary based on your message history size. As is the case of all beta software, WhatsApp has warned that some features may not work properly or may come with some issues.

When this feature will be rolled out for Android phones, is still a mystery.
