Ola Sells Rs 600 Cr Of Electric Scooter In 24 Hours! Bookings Now Closed, Price Will Rise?

Direct deliveries to customers’ homes will begin from October 2021 onwards.

Ola Electric has reportedly sold Ola S1 electric scooters worth more than Rs 600 crore.

This means it sold 4 scooters every second of the first 24 hours.

This amount is higher than what the entire 2-wheeler industry sells in a day.

When the sale window opened at 8 am on 15 September, it amassed over 80,000 orders within the first 12 hours.

Since the number has risen to over three lakh orders, the company was forced to stop taking any further orders after midnight on 16 September.

This achievement can be seen as a sign that India is slowly warming up to electric vehicles.

It had a starting price of Rs 1 lakh which is cheaper than Delhi prices of rivals like the TVS iQube (Rs 1.01 lakh), Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1.42 lakh) and the Ather 450 (starts at Rs 1.13 lakh).

Booking Process

EMIs for the Ola S1 starts at Rs 2,999 whereas the EMIs for Ola S1 Pro starts at Rs 3,199.

One can choose between opting for a loan or paying in advance.

If the loan option is selected, there will be no paperwork required since the entire process will be digital and online.

The estimated delivery month (Model-Variant-Pin Code combination) will be communicated via email, SMS and the Ola app.

Direct deliveries to customers’ homes will begin from October 2021 onwards.

It has a range of 121 kilometres.

The Ola S1 Pro has a 3.97 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is the biggest in production electric two-wheelers in India.

It has a range of 181 kilometres.
