Work From Home Ends At TCS, Wipro, Infosys: Work From Office Starts At These IT Firms

Many are reopening their offices in Gurugram.

Companies in India are bringing back their employees to offices.

As the vaccination drive across the country continues with impressive speed having covered a sizable amount of the population, private firms are growing more comfortable with bringing employees out of remote work.

Wipro

Chairman Rishad Premji tweeted that top leaders will start coming to offices after 18 months of remote work starting from Sep 13.

They will be working twice a week at offices.

He also shared a peek of the offices following COVID-19-related safety protocols such as temperature checks and contactless QR code scans.

Tata Consultancy Services

It is planning to ask 75% of its workforce to return to offices by the end of this year.

By then it expects the majority of its employees to be double vaccinated.

Infosys

It is also returning to offices but is also keeping in mind the threat of the pandemic’s third wave.

It is also complying with medical experts who have asked the public to not get complacent and lower their guards.

The company also said that it is receiving requests “from certain accounts to allow their team members to work from Infosys campuses.”

HCL Tech

Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Apparao V V said that at present 3% of its workforce in India have already rejoined workplaces.

He also spoke about plans to get the entirety of its employees vaccinated in the ongoing quarter.

In a staggered process of roll-out, it could start with a day or two a week in the office, depending on their roles.

While it wishes to bring most of its people back, it is not making it compulsorily for now.

Nasscom

The non-governmental trade association and advocacy group has started opening its offices with strict Covid protocols in place.

It will allow only upto 30% occupancy in the office.

Other measures include contactless solutions, enhanced ventilation, maintaining social distancing norms and increasing vaccination.

Facebook

It is opening its India office in a staggered manner.

A spokesperson said that while currently it is still working from home, from October it will allow a quarter of its staff to return to the Gurugram office.

Uber India

From January 10 it will call back its employees to work at least 50% of their time every month from the office.

They can choose their preferred location from a list of dedicated hubs.

Samsung

It has increased the percentage of employees who work from offices from 10% to 33%.

For safety reasons, rosters of staff are made two weeks in advance.

They can show up to offices only after taking an antigen test each time.
