Work From Home Officially Ends For 2 Lakh Wipro Employees After 18 Months; Work From Office Begins From This Date

Wipro has become the first among the biggest IT companies in India to officially end Work From Home for all their employees.

Starting Monday, that is September 13th, Wipro employees will work from the office, albeit with some rules and following all the Covid-19 protocols.

Wipro Officially Ends Work From Home

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji has officially announced that work from home has ended for all Wipro employees.

Starting Monday, the employees will be asked to work from the office, with a 2-days per week schedule.

It’s not clear as to which employees will be asked to come to the office on which day, but overall, every employee can be asked to visit the office twice a day.

Here’s the official Tweet by Rishad Premji: “After 18 long months, our leaders @Wipro are coming back to the office starting tomorrow (twice a week). All fully vaccinated, all ready to go – safely and socially distanced! We will watch this closely.”

Wipro has ensured that all the Covid-19 protocols will be followed, and the office environment will be sanitized regularly to ensure complete safety of all the parties involved.

There are 2.1 lakh employees in Wipro as of now.

Some Ambiguities Remain..

As per the data shared with the media, around 55% of the Wipro employees are right now fully vaccinated. But the announcement states that “All fully vaccinated.”

Hence, there is some amount of ambiguity which remains: All Wipro employees will be asked to work from office two days a week, or only those who are fully vaccinated will be asked to come to office first?
