With two devastating waves of the pandemic, it seems like the Indian economy is gearing up to be back on track. The automotive industry is also expecting to ride the tide during the upcoming festive season. Now that SUVs are hot in the country, the automakers are looking forward to capitalizing on the trend. Hence in the upcoming days, we can expect the launch of various new SUVs.

Tata Punch:

Tata Motors is planning to introduce a micro SUV that was earlier know popularly as HBX. The micro SUV will be built on the Alfa architecture which is also found on the Tata Altroz. The styling elements have been inspired by both Harrier and Tata Safari. The car has already been spotted on Indian roads and is expected to be in the market ahead of the festive season.

Force Gurkha:

To rival Mahindra Thar, Force Motors is expected to introduce its rival in India. The Force Gurkha was revealed at the Auto Expo in 2020. The car is expected to be launched in upcoming September. Force Gurkha will come with a 2.6-liter engine that is expected to produce 115PS of power. It will be adorned with all the off-roading special features such as 4WD, snorkel among others.

Ford EcoSport:

The Ford EcoSport is all set to get a facelift. The car will get a new set of LED DRLs and a headlamp cluster. It is expected to get a 1.5-liter diesel turbo engine and a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine. The EcoSport will get an all-new front look with sharper lines to emphasize its SUV DNA.

Volkswagen Taigun:

The car which will be launched on 23 September, will be entering the competition against the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The car has various elements almost identical to the Skoda Kushaq. Starting around the ?10.5 lakh mark (ex-showroom), it is expected to be priced similar to the Kushaq only.

Hyundai i20N:

The only non-SUV on the list. The South Korean automobile manufacturer has made it with a focus on driving enthusiasts. The new facelift will come with a more powerful powertrain. The design uses sporty elements including a red brake caliper as well as a dual-tone bumper.

So, as we can see tough competition in the new future, we can expect heavy discounts for customers, so all in all, it is a good prospectus for us, huh?
