While gearing up to launch the 2022 Casper, the Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed the looks of its new micro SUV Casper in South Korea.

Hyundai Casper Looks Revealed

Hyundai is all set to launch this micro SUV in the home markets first, most probably before the end of this year. 

Ahead of its launch, the carmaker has already started for pre-bookings although the price is yet to be announced.

The prices are expected to be announced officially within the next few weeks.

Hyundai Casper Features

The micro SUV will get a prominent radiator grille, round headlight units, sizeable wheel arches and distinctly curving body lines as per the official images of Casper shared by Hyundai.

Primarily, Hyundai Casper is being targeted for city-based customers, which is basically the production version of Hyundai’s Project AX1. 

Further, Hyundai Casper is using the K1 platform, which is the same one used for the Hyundai i10. 

In terms of size, the new Casper is smaller than the Kona and Venue SUVs. 

For instance, it has dimensions of 3,600 mm which makes it stand in the same class as the Suzuki Ignis and Renault KWID.

Soon, Hyundai plans to drive in the Casper SUV in India too. 

Hyundai Casper Competing With Rivals

Once launched in the Indian markets, it will rival the likes of cars such as the Tata Punch, Renault KWID and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. 

Hyundai is planning to place this model a notch below the Venue SUV.

Hyundai Casper With Double Engine Configuration

Talking about the engine, the carmaker has confirmed two engine options for Casper in South Korea. 

It seems that Casper will be offered with a 1.0-litre multi-point injection engine and a turbocharged version,  powered by a 1.0-litre engine with direct injection.

With this two-engine configuration, It will be able to produce 75 hp and 99 hp of power respectively. 

Casper In Indian Market

In case of Indian markets, Hyundai may offer Casper with a choice of a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, same as Grand i10 Nios, producing 83 hp of power and 114 Nm of peak torque.

Apart from this, Hyundai may offer Casper micro SUV with a hybrid or full electric engine option For global markets. 

Some speculation suggests that the Hyundai Casper will also get a fully electric version and will go into production in mid-2023.
