Electric vehicles are a new rage in the country. With prices of fossil fuels skyrocketing, EVs are becoming a viable option for a lot of customers. With a push from the leadership of the country and the private sector warming up to the idea of mainstream Electric Vehicles, the whole EV economy is blossoming.

From Tata Nexon EV to Mercedes-Benz EQC, the Indian market has some capable options in the EV segment. And to add more fun to the competition, a fresh set of EVs is all set to enter the Indian market. So, here’s a list of 6 electric cars that will soon go on sale in the country.

1. Mahindra eKUV100

The electrified version of KUV100 was recently spied in camouflage, signaling its arrival in the Indian market soon. The car will come with a 15.9 kWh battery pack that might lend it with a range of 150 km only. Power and torque outputs for the eKUV100 will stand at 55 PS and 124 Nm, respectively. The car will be competitively priced at Rs. 9 lakh, ex-showroom.

2. Maruti Suzuki EV

With collaboration with the Japanese giant Suzuki, Maruti is in the development of its first-ever EV. The first EV from the automaker will hit Indian markets before the rest of the world. Still, the car will hit the markets by 2025 only. This vehicle will be introduced with competitive pricing for mass-market at Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom). It will come with a range of around 150 km on a full charge.

3. Tata Tigor EV

Tata Tigor EV would soon hit Indian markets in an updated avatar. It might be powered by a Ziptron-powered setup as the Tata Nexon EV. The electric sedan will boast a peak power output of 75 Hp and 170 Nm of max torque. The EV will be offered with an 8 year/1.60 lakh km warranty for the battery and motor. The EV will be priced a couple of lakhs below Tata Nexon EV.

4. Tata Altroz EV

The Tata Altroz EV is expected to go on sale sometime next year. The car is speculated to have a 40 percent larger battery pack than the Nexon EV. Hence, the range of the car might increase to around 500 km. Altroz EV will have a permanent magnet type DC motor, churning out 129 PS and 245 Nm.

5. Hyundai EV

Even though Hyundai has been late at announcing its participation in the EV race, the brand has big plans for the Indian market. The upcoming EV is likely to offer a range of approximately 150 km on a single charge. Once launched, it will compete with the upcoming mass-market EV from Maruti Suzuki.

6. Tesla Model 3

Every EV enthusiast in the country has been waiting for its arrival in the country. While testing the EV has already been spotted on Indian roads. Sold internationally with two variants the Model 3 will likely make its India debut with just one variant. It will enter India via the CBU route from Tesla’s Gigafactory, based in China. Hence, the expected price of the EV is around Rs. 55 lakh, ex-showroom.
