Xiaomi Declares Themselves #1 Brand In This Segment: Redmi Note 10 Pro Max Best Seller?

The Indian smartphone market is a unique one. With more than a billion population where the majority of the population is youth, our country is a huge marketplace for any smartphone manufacturer in the world. The lucrativeness of the market keeps on attracting new brands into the Indian Market.

With more than 60 brands currently operating in the country, it is very challenging for any player to be at the top for a long period. In that, if you remain at the top for a long period, then it really deserves applause. It seems like, Xiaomi just might have achieved such a praiseworthy feat.

Xiaomi claims the leadership position

Recently, Xiaomi had announced that it has been India’s largest smartphone brand for the last 4 years. Now, the company is claiming to be the country’s largest online smartphone brand in the ?20K-?45K price segment.

Xiaomi India, in a recent tweet, said, the company is India’s no. 1 online smartphone brand in the ?20K-?45K price segment. To support its claim, the company referred to data from the June 2021 India Smartphone Monthly Model Tracker by Counterpoint Research.

Hence, it can be concluded that Xiaomi was probably the largest online smartphone brand in the upper mid-range to premium segment in India in June. The trend might have continued through July but we don’t have data for the same.

Offerings by the company in the mid-range

The company offers five different smartphone models in the said price segment. These are Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Lite, Mi 10i, Mi 11X, and Mi 11X Pro. Although the firm has not said which model garners maximum sales, it is being said that most of the sales numbers could have come from the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.

For a brand, which is associated with cheap affordable devices this still is an achievement. Maybe taking inspiration from this feat, in upcoming days, Xiaomi will bring more upper mid-range smartphones to the country.
