As per the newest revisions to the restrictions in Maharashtra, the government has finally allowed citizens to travel through the Mumbai local trains.

However, there are a few conditions that have been set by the government of Maharashtra for the passengers traveling by the Mumbai locals.

A mandatory universal travel pass has also been introduced for the travelers of Mumbai locals. Read on to find out how to download this pass!

Mumbai Locals Now Open For All: What Are The Conditions?

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has now announced that citizens of Mumbai can travel through the local trains, but only those who are fully vaccinated. Additionally, a gap of 14 days from the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has also been made compulsory to travel through the locals. 

A universal travel pass is also mandatory for traveling. The  Universal Travel Pass will come with a QR code and allow residents of Mumbai and adjoining areas to travel through the Mumbai Metro, suburban local trains, and monorail. The QR code on this pass 

He said, “Those who have completed 14 days after their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine can apply on a specially-created app to get a special railway pass and they can collect it from the local ward offices.”

Step By Step Procedure To Get The Universal Travel Pass

Let’s look at how to get Universal Travel Pass:

First, you will need to visit the website of the Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation department of Maharashtra: https://msdmacov19.mahait.org/.

Now, you will see a Universal Travel Pass button in the top left corner of the webpage. Click on this button.

Next, go to Register your Establishment. Every establishment will be required to provide a single point of contact (called coordinator) to administer the establishment information. Also, this is a one-time activity.

You will then be redirected to a new window with an Establishment Registration Form, wherein you will need to input all the details about the establishment and the coordinator.

After you fill out all the details, you will need to check the “I agree to the above conditions” box and click on Register. A message will then be delivered to you on the screen and mobile number which will confirm the successful registration of your establishment.

The Disaster Management authority in the district will approve your establishment. After you gain the approval, the coordinator will be able to create multiple coordinators. All of them will be able to upload the staff details using the CSV template. This template is provided on the website.

Next, staff information will be required to be uploaded from the CSV sheet. Once it is uploaded, the staff members will get an SMS to download the travel pass from the website.

Now, staff members will be able to go to the website and click on  “Download Travel Pass”. For this, they must log in using their mobile number after which they will get an OTP. This OTP should be entered into the website along with a photo in order to generate an e-pass. This pass can be printed for future reference, or passengers can also use a screenshot of the same.
