Etihad Starts UAE Flights From These 5 Indian Cities: But Not Everyone Is Allowed To Board

Newest reports have confirmed that Etihad Airways will now allow flights from India from August 7.

The UAE has reportedly reduced some of the travel restrictions from people travelling from India. 

However, Indians are still not allowed to travel to Dubai yet.

Recently, it was reported that all the flights from India to UAE have been banned, and this is because of the delta variant. As per reports, Etihad Airways had announced that it will be extending the suspension of flights from India till July 31, 2021.

Flights from Pakistan and Bangladesh have also been suspended, as confirmed by a statement by the Etihad Airways.

As per a circular by the GCAA, “The current development on the COVID- 19 pandemic leads the UAE to impose new flight and passengers’ restrictions. The UAE government is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates and instructions as necessary.”

Also, inbound travel from South Asian countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka has been suspended since April 24.

By the end of July, the Etihad Airways had announced that it will no longer operate flights from India to Dubai and other destinations in the UAE until further notice.

And now, newest reports have confirmed that Etihad Airways will launch its flights from New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru and Trivandrum from August 7, because the United Arab Emirates has now relaxed some travel restrictions from travelers from India. 

Rules For Travel

However, Indians are still not allowed to travel to Dubai as all the complete travel restrictions have not been lifted by the UAE government. As per reports, UAE citizens and transit passengers will be allowed to travel to the UAW. Etihad Airways has also resumed booking.

As per reports, the airways will add flights from three more Indian cities, and other cities from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka starting August 10. Also, flights from Ahmedabad (transit), Hyderabad, Mumbai, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Dhaka and Colombo will resume.

Now, UAE  residents, students and professionals working for UAE government agencies will be allowed to travel to the country along with Indian students who want to transit through UAE airports to other destinations are also allowed now if they have negative PCR tests.

The restrictions were lifted on August 5 for fully vaccinated UAE residents, travelling from India, healthcare workers, students, teachers, and patients undergoing treatment.

However, they will need to apply for permission to return through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship website.

There also are some restrictions for passengers traveling from countries other than the UAE’s green list, such as a medically approved wristband and quarantine for seven days if they are fully vaccinated and for up to 12 days if not vaccinated.

Vaccinated and non-vaccinated tourists are not allowed from India as of now, and will have to undergo a 12-day quarantine in Abu Dhabi.
