e-Catering Allowed Across 200 Railway Stations: Order Food & Get Delivered In Train!

Indians love their Railways! They have been part of memories for millions of Indians. They made strangers felt like family and bonded them like nothing else. One of the fond memories of these train journeys has been the food that you get to explore while crisscrossing the country. Keeping in mind this love for the food of fellow travelers, IRCTC has restarted E-Catering Services.

Delicious food delivered at the tip of a finger

IRCTC tweeted, “Train passengers can order food by visiting the website- http://ecatering.irctc.co.in or download IRCTC e-catering ‘Food On Track’ app. They can also call on the number 1323 for ordering delicious food from a vast menu.” This service can be availed by passengers at more than 200 restaurants in the country.

Once this food is ordered online, it will be delivered right at their respective seats in trains.

TO order the food, passengers will have to enter their travel details such as PNR number, Train name, seat/berth number either through the website or the app.

For payments, the Cash On Delivery (COD) or online payments options are available, said IRCTC.

Passenger safety measures are also being undertaken

Along with providing good food services to passengers, the ministry is also looking forward to improved security during travel. The Ministry of Railways has approved the works for the installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in all train coaches. It should be noted that 141 coaches have already been provided with CCTV cameras.

The Indian Railways has also approved the project of the Video Surveillance System at all stations (except halt stations). The ministry has also taken steps to improve women’s safety in trains. For the same purpose, they have made provision of Integrated Enquiry Response Management System (IERMS) at 983 stations under the Nirbhaya Fund. Also, with the same thought, So far, 814 stations have been equipped with CCTV cameras.
