According to the BMC, Mumbai reported 288 new cases of COVID-19 and three of the patient died from the virus on Tuesday
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) head, Raj Thackeray, has previously demanded that the Chief Minister reinstate local train services for the general public, particularly for those who had completed their vaccinations.
He further recommended that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration in Maharashtra eliminate coronavirus-induced limitations.
It may look that the cases are decreasing but the country is not out of danger, the third wave can hit soon and therefore the Maharashtra government made a major declaration on Tuesday, stating that the Mumbai Local Train operations will not begin for the general public until the COVID third wave has passed.
Mumbai Local Train Update
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray told the Free Press that due to the probability of the third wave of COVID-19, the travel restriction will not be changed, the general public won’t be able to travel in Mumbai local trains.
He made the remarks while visiting Sangli to assess the situation and monitor the administration’s flood-management efforts in the afflicted district.
Maharastra Government has allowed everyone to travel by bus but the general public can not travel by Mumbai local trains.
Thus the Bombay High Court asked the Maharashtra government to frame a comprehensive plan to permit vaccinated people to travel by Mumbai local trains and questioned why all vaccinated people could not be allowed to travel by train.
Relaxations In Coronavirus-Induced Restrictions
The Maharashtra government released new rules on Monday to ease lockdown restrictions in districts with a low Covid-19 positive rate.
After a steady drop in new infections, the Covid restrictions in Mumbai have also been removed.
According to the BMC, the city has two containment zones, each with 48 buildings shut as a precautionary step to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
