These 2 New Electric SUVs Can Beat Tata Nexon In India: Launch Date, Price, USPs

Compact SUV is the newfound love of the nation. Customers are not getting tired while demanding and waiting for months to get their own compact SUVs. And if you add the factor of sustainable mobility to it, it adds a cherry on the cake. Till now there was only one electric compact SUV in the nation. Yes, you guessed it right. We are talking about Tata Nexon EV. Tata developed the first-ever high-voltage EV, and now it is the highest-selling electric car in the nation. And now the company is witnessing the same demand for EV variant as it is witnessing for a Diesel one.

Nexon EV currently has no direct rival in the Indian market. But, soon it would be facing competition from two new entrants in the compact electric SUV space. These new models will come in a similar price bracket and will come with a similar set of specifications as well.

1. Mahindra eXUV300

This vehicle was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. Very soon the electrified avatar of the Mahindra XUV300 is set to hit the showroom floors. The front-wheel-drive vehicle will come up with a 130 Hp electric motor. With the battery will be a 40 kWh unit the eXUV300 might offer a driving range of around 300 km on a single charge.

The looks department will have a lot of similarities with XUV300 itself. It will come up with a design theme, which will have a tinge of blue at places and a faux radiator grille. Also as the EV segment is not restricted to be under 4m, this variant won’t have a chopped-off rear end like its normal variant.

2. MG Compact EV

The British brand currently sells the MG ZS EV in the Indian market. It has given a minuscule share to the brand in the Indian Market. However, with burgeoning demand for Compact EV in the Indian Market, the company is also preparing to rival Tata Nexon.

MG has earlier given hint about the arrival of a smaller electric SUV than the ZS EV, which will start from Rs. 10 lakh, ex-showroom. The new MG EV is to come by the end of 2022 or early 2023.
