The government of Uttar Pradesh has now announced its plans to offer free WiFi connectivity in as many as 217 cities in the state.

The government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has also revealed that these locations will be rural and urban both.

217 Cities In The State Of Uttar Pradesh To Receive Free WiFi connectivity

As per an official statement released by the government of Uttar Pradesh, 217 cities of 17 municipal corporations will be facilitated with the free WiFi connectivity. 

The places in which these free WiFi facilities are to be installed are public places, as revealed by the Government. For example, places like bus stands, court, railway station, block and registrar offices will have this facility.

For bigger cities, the free WiFi will be installed in two places, whereas, for smaller ones, it will be installed in only one place. 

In 2019, the Govt. of India had announced that 48,000 villages will be provided free WiFi till March, 2020. All 48,000 villages which have been connected with the national broadband plan under BharatNet, will be now offered absolutely free WiFi connectivity till March, 2020.

Which Cities Of UP Will Get Free WiFi?

Some of the cities where WiFi would be set up are Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Bareilly, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, Ghaziabad, Mathura-Vrindavan and Firozabad.

CM Yogi Adityanath during the budget session revealed that the UP government was given the certificate by the centre for benefiting 2.37 crore farmers in the state under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

In February 2018, an investor summit was organized in which MoUs of Rs 4.28 lakh crore was inked and nearly Rs 3 lakh crore have started at the ground level. The exports from Uttar Pradesh also increased by 32% in the last two years.
