Engineering colleges in Karnataka’s Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) will be reopening on July 26.

Engineering Students From Karnataka Will Now Be Choosing Between Online And Offline Mode

As per reports, classes will be conducted in online and offline mode and it is up to the students to choose which mode to attend their classes in. however, those students who want to attend their classes through the offline mode will have to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease.

As Vice-Chancellor Karisiddappa said in Belagavi, “We have allowed all engineering colleges to start classes in blended mode. Students can choose either online or offline classes. But those who want to attend offline classes should have received at least one dose of vaccine as per the State government protocol.”

Karnataka is among the states which have the highest vaccination levels. As per reports it is one of the six in the country where vaccination has already breached two crore doses.

All the colleges governed by the VTU Has started vaccinating the staff and students in the fourth week of June.

Vaccination of Staff And Students In Karnataka

Apparently, the targets of vaccination for the faculty and the staff have crossed 88.88% and 72.83% of students have also been vaccinated till now. Vaccination drives are still running and they will be completed soon. As per reports, the university is gathering information about the vaccination of students in the state and from elsewhere as well.

About the examinations, Vice-Chancellor Karisiddappa has said, “We have conducted examinations for a major portion of first semester BE/B.Tech/B.Plan/B.Arch programmes. Examinations for the remaining subjects will be conducted as per the timetable already announced. A few pending papers will be conducted as per the timetable.”

The first semester examinations of BE/B.Tech/B.Plan/B.Arch and postgraduate programmes for M.Tech/M.Arch/MBA/MCA will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper) as per the timetable. 

As per Dr. Karisiddappa, the preparation of engineering textbooks in kannada is also underway and  textbooks for all subjects for the first year will be ready in a few weeks
