IT Industry was forced to start working from home when the pandemic hit the world. People were forced to stay inside for more than a year now. And it has started to get under the skin of a lot of these employees. They have been itching to get back at workplaces which provided them a sense of belonging. Extroverts have been craving to go out and meet real people instead of some faces on Zoom screens. All these people soon will have a breath of relief. Because A lot of IT companies are preparing to start working from offices once again.

IT companies start preparing from offices

Vaccination has picked up pace throughout the country. A significant population has been covered as of now. Also, the second wave of the pandemic has been receding for a while now. The daily number of new cases has been decreasing gradually. All these things are giving confidence to people. These all reasons are leading IT companies to think about reopening their offices.

Even though going back to work in full capacity in offices seem a bit difficult as of now, still, many companies are willing to bring at least 30 percent of the employees back to the office. The companies are preparing to implement a hybrid workforce model, wherein some employees will work from home and some will work from the offices.

Even the Telangana government is in talks with industry leaders and is giving confidence to companies about the preparedness of the government to handle any sort of anomaly.

IT Peripheral industries are rooting for reopening of offices

A whole facilities management and support industries are dependent on functioning IT industry. Livelihoods of lakhs of people are dependent on it. Hence various industry bodies and governments are rooting for the IT industry to get back on track.

President of Telangana Facilities Management Council (TFMC), which has about 400 members, Satyanarayana Mathala is looking forward to reopening of IT industry. He said, “Facility management services are the backbone for the IT offices to function. We are working to ensure that people come back to work from the offices. Their coming back to the office will positively impact multiple sectors- cabs, cafeterias, housekeeping, stationery, consumables and more”. He also noted that many of the IT professionals have gone back to their native places. These people will take the call to come back to the office based on their confidence in the safety of the offices. At the same time, he did not forget the reality of the possible third wave, on which a lot is dependent for resuming offices.
