NEET 2021 To Be Held On September 12 Across 198 Cities: Register For NEET 2021 Here

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) wil take place on September 12 instead of August 1 after taking into consideration the still high amount of Covid cases in the country.

Application Process Begins Today

The exam, which selects students for MBBS and BDS courses, will start taking applications from 5 pm today (Tuesday) on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website.

Application fee for General category students is Rs 1,500, for EWS Rs 1400 and Rs 800 for other categories. 

Those wanting reservations like SC/ST/OBC will have to provide proof when registering.

Documents To Submit

The general documents required in the process comprise:

  • Candidate’s photograph
  • Signature
  • Left-hand thumb impression
  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 10 passing certificate
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Class 12 passing certificate
  • ID proof (such as Aadhaar Card).

Payment can be made through Debit/Credit/ Net Banking or Unified Payment Interface (UPI) using State Bank of India/Syndicate Bank/ICICI Bank/HDFC Bank/Paytm service provider.

Protocols To Be Followed, Number Of Cities/Centres Increase

On the day of the exam, students will be ushered in in staggered time slots and all will be provided face masks.

The test has been expanded to 198 cities in order to ensure social distancing, more than the 155 cities last year.

The number of examination centres will also be increased from the present 3862 centres.

The test is conducted to allot eligible candidates to 80,000 MBBS seats and 32,000 BDS seats.

JEE-Main 

The NTA announced last week that the remaining 2 rounds of the Joint Entrance Examination-Main for BTech courses in NITs will be held from July 20.

The third session had been scheduled from July 20 to July 25 and the fourth round from July 27 to August 2.

Students can appear in all 4 rounds and the top 2.5 lakh scorers will qualify for the JEE-Advanced test for admission into IITs.
