The Ford-flagship SUV sold 892 units in June, far above the 366 units it sold in the same period last year.

This is a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 143.7%.

#2

Fortuner comes in at the second spot having sold 549 units.

In the same period last year it sold 713 units, translating to a decline in YoY sales of 23%.

#3

MG Gloster which debuted in India last year comes in at the third spot with 306 units dispatched.

#4

Hyundai Tucson is at number four with 85 units sold, compared to 30 units last year, thereby registering a growth of 183%.

#5

Mahindra Alturas G4, based on the Ssangyong Rexton, failed to make an impact as it sold just 16 units this year.

This is worrisome for Mahindra as it had pitched the flagship SUV to take on the fierce competition in the Indian SUV market.

New-Gen Upgrades

Endeavour and Fortuner will be getting new generation upgrades which are presently under development.

Both have been spotted on test drives in Australia and Thailand respectively.

The Endeavour is expected to get a design overhaul.

The Fortuner, however, will likely remain mostly the same with most updates taking place underneath the skin.
