Hyderabad Ends Work From Home! State Govt Wants IT Employees To Return To Office

India recently turned faced two massive blows at the hands of Coronavirus. The virus forced us to shut our offices and be locked up at our own homes. Work from Home became a New Normal. And to some extent work from home helped companies to deal with the recession caused by the pandemic. It helped organizations to reduce their own costs and increase their profitability.

But at the same time, this work from home culture became a reason of worry for a lot of peripheral economies. The business of IT-dependent industries such as food eateries, transportation services, security agencies, etc. took a huge nosedive. Their business has been bleeding out for a long time now and hence to alleviate the stress on the industry, the government is trying their bid and is looking to bring people back in the office.

Government Mulling Over the Decision

Information Technology (IT) Principal Secretory Jayesh Ranjan said that Telangana Government thinks that people should come back to the workplace. They are preparing in such a way that the offices would be fully functional by September End. Vaccination being in full swing throughout the country and infection rates also going down significantly, is giving the government the room to think about reopening offices.

While notifying that they are in talks with senior management of various MNCs he also suggested that Goldman Sachs might start their offices pretty soon.

Even though the vaccination rate has increased, it seems that industry leaders are looking for a more significant increase in the percent of people vaccinated. There is also fear of the rise of the third wave of the pandemic. But the government is sure about its ability to handle any kind of eventuality.

Ready for Any Eventuality

While there are fears among the general populace regarding new strains and the possibility of a new wave, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanaris confident about the preparedness of the government. He said, “we are prepared to deal with any crisis. For now, we know that the situation is safe for the offices to reopen and some of them are already opening up.”

Jayesh Ranjan also has faith in the improved ability of the government to deal with any possible eventuality. He remarked, “If there is a third wave of the pandemic, we are prepared for it. After successfully handling two waves of the coronavirus, the government has enough facilities, medical equipment, trained staff, medicines, etc. to deal with the situation. So, it seems like a piece of good news for people who have been looking forward to rejoining their office back, huh?!
