Google Beats TCS, Microsoft To Become India’s Most Favourite Employer Brand!

Google India has been rated as the “most attractive employer brand in the country” according to the Randstad Employer Brand Research 2021 survey.

The survey had 2 lakh respondents hailing from 34 countries- which comprise 80% of the world economy.

How Google Became #1

Google India has scored the highest in the three criteria an employer is evaluated on.

The criteria or top three Employee Value Proposition parameters comprise financial health, strong reputation, and attractive salary and benefits.

The survey showed that in 2021, work-life balance was higher in priority especially for women when it comes to choosing a company over salary or benefits.

Salary Not The Top Priority

65% of those surveyed chose work-life balance as their main parameter, the majority being aged between 25-54 over an attractive salary package (62%).

The second thing job seekers look for is COVID-19- appropriate work environment and job security.

61% of respondents checked whether the company had Covid-compliant workspaces along with assurance of job security (tied at 61%).

Another interesting finding was the gap between what employees want and what they perceive Indian employers to offer.

Other Intriguing Findings

More women sought options to work from home or remotely at 54%, compared to 49% of male respondents.

However, both men and women shared the same sentiment of considering an employer’s reputation and financial health.

The Indian workforce has been found to lean heavily towards IT, ITeS & Telecom, FMCG, Retail & E-commerce companies, followed by Automotive, and BFSI or Banking, financial services and insurance.

Randstad India MD & CEO Viswanath P.S. commented that in a post-pandemic world, job seekers give more importance to jobs where they are “valued, supported with compassion and where the culture aligns with their own beliefs and purpose.”
