Pune-Mumbai Deccan Express Will Have This Beautiful Vistadome Coach: Why Is This Important?

Train journeys on the Deccan Express are always exciting, and now, they will be even more beautiful! The Central Railways is planning to introduce a Vistadome Coach on the Deccan Express special which runs between Mumbai and Pune.

Deccan Express Passengers Can Now Enjoy Beautiful Views With Vistadome Coach

The Deccan Express will now resume its Pune to Mumbai journey on June 26 and the bookings for the same have opened today, i.e., June 24. PAssengers who want to travel between the two cities will be able to enhance their journeys by availing the seats in a special “Vistadome” coach on the Deccan Express Special.

The Central Railways has stated that passengers who have confirmed tickets will be allowed on the train. Additionally, all the norms and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to Covid-19 will be followed.

Railway officials have also said that this is the first time that a Vistadome coach will be deployed on the Mumbai-Pune route. The officials have also said that passengers will be able to enjoy views of rivers, valleys, waterfalls on the Mumbai-Pune route. 

The Vistadome coach travels from Mumbai-Madgaon on the Jan Shatabdi Special train. Passengers will also be able to feast their eyes on scenic beauty while passing near Matheran hill (near Neral), Songir hill (near Palasdhari), Ulhas river (near Jambrung), Ulhas Valley, areas of Khandala, and Lonavala, and waterfalls, tunnels on the south-east ghat section.

Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways, has tweeted, “Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai via Vistadome: Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Western Ghats with the first ever Vistadome coach on this route. 

The Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express Special Train having the Vistadome coach is all set to be restored on this route from 26th June 2021.”

Features On Vistadome Coach; Here’s How To Book Seats

The Coach will also come with special features, such as wide window panes, a glass rooftop, rotatable seats and pushback chairs.

The  01007 Deccan Express special is scheduled to depart from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 07.00 hrs daily with effect from June 26 and arrive Pune in at 11.05 hrs same day. The officials have also stated that the 01008 Deccan Express special will leave Pune at 15.15 hrs daily from June 26 and will arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 19.05 hrs same day

The halts of the train include  Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Neral (for 01007 only), Lonavla, Talegaon, Khadki and Shivajinagar.

The train will also come with three AC Chair cars, 10 bogies of second-class seating and one second class-seating-cum guard’s brake van. For bookings, you can visit the website www.irctc.co.in and at all passenger reservation system (PRS) centres.
