WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, is working on a feature that would allow Android users to listen to their voice messages before sending them.

The feature was submitted as part of the WhatsApp beta version for Android 2.21.12.7 and is anticipated to be released in the near future.

The feature has already been under development for iOS devices, reported WABetaInfo, and now the messaging platform has started to develop the feature for Android devices as well.

Review Your Voice Messages On WhatsApp

The option to review voice messages has been available on WhatsApp, but the process to do so is cumbersome.

The under-development feature will allow users to listen to the voice message every time they hit the stop button, WABetaInfo noted.

Presently, users get a cancel button that deletes the entire voice message; it will be changed to a stop button once the feature is rolled out, it further added.

Change The Playback Speeds On WhatsApp

Now when you receive a long voice note, you can easily play the voice message at 1x,1.5x or 2x.

Now a user can change their Voice messages playback speeds. The feature allows users to play a voice message at 1x, 1.5x or 2x speed without changing the pitch of the message.

In a statement, WhatsApp said, “These days we need all the time-saving tips and tricks we can find. This is why voice messages on WhatsApp are a particularly useful tool for people short on time, who are multitasking, or who have friends and family in different time zones.”
