Best Selling Compact SUV In India

This time the crown is snatched by Hyundai’s best-selling compact SUV Venue.

Now, Hyundai Venue has taken the top step in the sales chart by beating the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and other peers.

The Venue has registered total sales of 11,245 units in April 2021 as per the data provided by Autopunditz,

If we compare to the March 2021 sales, this is over 5 percent more as earlier it stood at 10,722 units.

Second Space Occupied By Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

With Hyundai Venue’s win, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza pushed to the second spot with registering a total sales of 11,220 units in the last month.

If we see closely, there is a very little difference of 25 units, this shows the level of competition in the segment.

Before this, the Vitara Brezza registered a similar sales figure of 11, 274 units for the month of March this year.

Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon And Mahindra XUV300 Sales

If we talk about the third spot, it was occupied by Kia Sonet, finishing in the third spot.

Kia Sonnet has registered a sales de-growth of 9 percent in April as compared to sales from March this year.

Last month, a total of 7724 units were sold, which is 774 units less than March 2021 sales.

The next spot is claimed by Tata Nexon at the fourth place in the top 10 compact SUV sold chart in April 2021.

This compact SUV has registered total sales of 6,938 units as a result of an (MoM) Month-on-Month sales de-growth of over 20 percent, standing at 8,683 registered units in March 2021.

Huge Increase In Mahindra XUV300 Sales

The next one is a surprise as Mahindra XUV300 has finished fifth in the sales chart with an MoM sales increase of over 60 percent last month.

This model’s April sales stand at 4,144 units as compared to the 2,587 units from March this year.

It seems that the introduction of the Ford EcoSport SE variant has worked in favor of the brand in India.

As a result, EcoSport finishes sixth in the sales chart by registering 3,820 units sold in the last month.

Although, the compact SUV still registered an MoM degrowth of over 30 percent in April 2021.

Next, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger are placed in seventh and eighth places, respectively.

In April month, the Magnite registered 2,904 units in April 2021, while the Kiger clocks 2,800 units.

Lastly, the Toyota Urban Cruiser and the Honda WR-V complete the top-10 compact SUV sales chart for April 2021.

Where Urban Cruiser registers 2,115 units and is placed ninth on the list.

On the other hand, the Honda WR-V finishes tenth by registering 1,194 units sold last month.

Lockdown Affecting Sales Figures

During This period, the majority of the states and cities have announced a lockdown in wake of the second wave of the Covid-19 virus spreading in the country.

At the same time, many automakers have announced a temporary halt on the production of vehicles to safeguard their workforce.

As it included showrooms and workshops as well. So, this has resulted in low sales volume in the last month as compared to the sales from March this year.
