Credit Suisse Operations In India

This will add to its 15,000 strong workforce in India which is 25% of the firm’s global IT staff, the largest share of any of its other locations.

The Indian workforce occupies its Pune and Mumbai offices. 

Its total global headcount of 49,000 provides expertise in investment banking and brokerage services along with wealth management, commercial banking services which include foreign exchange and debt capital market products.

The hiring plans will further help the company position India, Maharashtra to be specific, as a hub for global tech innovation. 

Hiring will focus on the areas of cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, API development, machine learning and artificial intelligence combined with Agile and DevOps delivery methods.

These specialisations will help further the company’s digital ambitions and help bolster its independent core capabilities. 

Its growth plans have also been executed in the past with the hires of 2,000 techies in the last 3 years. 

John Burns, Head- India IT and Senior Franchise Officer in Pune, stated that the 2021 hiring plans reaffirms their commitment to Maharashtra and India at large. 

Efforts To Attract Best Talent

It will also train its employees in global delivery and to generate innovative solutions with focus on value creation and productivity, all of which will enhance its IT presence in India. 

Burns further said that the pandemic has expedited the requirement for digital solutions in multiple areas. 

Credit Suisse, according to him, has made use of tools of collaboration which facilitates seamless communication which in turn supports teamwork and churns out effective delivery. 

Prashant Bhatnagar, Global Head of Experienced Recruiting for Technology, said that they want to attract the best in IT who can be assured of a “dynamic environment that fosters skill development and knowledge-sharing”. 

He says that the firm also provides “opportunities for engineers and developers to be at the forefront of technology and innovation”. 

Commitment To India’s Covid Relief

It has also contributed to India’s Covid fight by pledging Rs 7.5 crore ($1 million) to Concern India Foundation and GiveIndia. 

The money will go towards funding of critical medical products for hospitals in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru. 

In a separate employee-funded initiative, Rs 2.8 crore ($370,000) was raised to be donated to GiveIndia’s India Covid Response Fund.
