Win-Win For Customers And Retailer

With this service Big Bazaar aims to make the lives of people living in smaller towns and areas easier where the presence of ecommerce is minimal.

In these areas, Big Bazaar has built customer loyalty through its stores and availability of items at personal convenience.

The retail giant is also capitalising on the ongoing pandemic which has once again forced people to stay at home and make use of online services.

Another factor in favor of Big Bazaar is that the govt has barred non essential items from being delivered.

Hence, online players can now focus on only orders containing essential items, which Big Bazaar specialises in.

Eyes Amazon In Marketing Strategy

It is also looking to up its mettle against other top retail players such as Amazon.

Amazon, which has a minority 3% stake in Future Retail, has been a thorn in Big Bazaar’s side as it has dragged the former to court over alleged violations in the Reliance deal

Big Bazaar has developed a marketing strategy which will take on its rivals such as Bigbasket, Flipkart, Grofers and others.

While Amazon brands itself ‘India ki Apni Dukaan’, Big Bazaar has gone ahead and called itself ‘India ki Asli Dukan’ in retaliation.

It is also adding the word ‘amazing’ to describe its benefits to customers à la Amazing Service, Amazing Prices, Amazing Products and Amazing Deals.

How Store2Door Works

Store2Door will utilise the store’s employees to also function as delivery executives.

It has also partnered with hyperlocal delivery companies to fulfil orders.

It claims that its average order size is around Rs 1,500 which is higher than that of ecommerce companies.

It also boasts of its 2 hour delivery service which apparently no other player can achieve presently, at least not throughout the country.

Prime Time To Create Business

This is a crucial time for India’s leading hypermarket chain as it tries to make better use of its assets as the Rs 24,700-crore proposed deal with Reliance (RIL) looms in the background.

With the Store2Door program, Big Bazaar aims to meet or exceed its target of 1 lakh online orders per day.

It is looking to achieve a doubling of its online business in the span of a month and with Store2Door it could very well accomplish that.
