Hyundai Alcazar Bookings Start At Rs 13 Lakh Across India; But Is It Official Booking?

The launch of Hyundai’s 7-seater Alcazar has been delayed because of the pandemic. 

Despite that, some Hyundai dealerships have begun taking unofficial bookings for the car which is expected to arrive later this month or in June.

It is based on the Hyundai Creta but with wider dimensions to accommodate a seating of 3 rows. 

The third row can be folded down to access extra boot space. 

Longest Wheelbase And Advantages

It has the biggest wheelbase in the segment at 2,760mm.

This pits it against other similarly large wheelbase possessing vehicles such as the Tata Safari (2,741mm) and Mahindra XUV500 (2,700mm).

Despite its bulk with respect to size and weight, its handling is not compromised.

It lends a lot of personal space and legroom for passengers inside in the middle and last rows as well. 

It also has a redesigned front grille, bumper and an extended posterior.

Engine Variants

It will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. 

The petrol variant is equipped with a  2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Elantra sedan and the Tucson SUV which will put out 159 Ps and has 192 Nm of torque .

The diesel engine variant is a 1.5-litre diesel engine which has 115 Ps and torque of 250 Nm.

Both are combined with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox which will transmit power to the front wheels alone.

Price And Competition

It will likely be priced in the Rs 13-20 lakh range. 

It is positioned to compete with the new Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV500.

Other popular MPVs it could rival also include the Maruti Ertiga/XL6, Mahindra Marazzo, and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
