Hyundai Creta Is India’s Best Selling Non-Maruti Car; WagonR Beats Swift In Sales!

In 2021 saw 7 of Maruti Suzuki cars on the list of best-selling models on the other hand 3 Hyundai models could make it to the list. 

WagonR In Lead From Maruti

If we talk about the leading model then space is occupied by WagonR, which was in the lead for the first time in 2021.

WagonR reached the top by outselling other models from the company staples including well-known models like Swift, Alto, Baleno and DZire.

Although, all these models faced a de-growth with the exception of the Hyundai i10 Grand and Venue. 

Considering the top 10 cars sold in April 2021, total sold figures stood at 1,42,669 units, which is almost 3.42 percent down over 1,47,726 units sold during March 21. 

In this list, the top 5 positions were held by Maruti Suzuki where WagonR reserved the top spot commanding a 13.08 percent share in this list. 

So, there were 18,656 units of WagonR sold last month, which is marginally 0.54 percent down compared to the 18,757 units sold on March 21. 

Maruti Swift Slipped To Second Spot

While the Maruti Swift slipped to the No.2 spot on April 21 with 18,316 units sold, down 15.65 percent over 21,714 units sold on March 21.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto suffered marginal de-growth of 0.56 percent from 17,401 units sold on March 21 to 17,303 units sold last month.

There is a substantial dip in MoM sales of both Maruti Baleno and DZire. 

Where, Baleno sales fell 22.78 percent to 16,384 units in the past month, down from 21,217 units sold on March 21.

WHile DZire suffered 23.08 percent degrowth to 14,073 units on April 21, a drop from 11,434 units sold in the previous month.

Hyundai’s Creta Best Selling Model

The next stakeholder in the list, Hyundai has two models that stepped into the list at Nos. 6 and 7.

Its Creta made a sale of 12,463 units as of April 21, which is 1.40 percent down compared to its 12,640 units sold on March 21. 

Earlier, Hyundai Creta was on top of the sales charts past month being the most sold SUV in the country. 

Growth In Sales For Hyundai i10 Grand NIOS and Venue

Two models, Hyundai i10 Grand NIOS and Venue in the company lineup, in fact on the entire list of top 10 cars sold on April 21 were the models whose sales increased by 4.72 percent to 11,540 units which were 11,020 units in the past month.

In the case of Venue, the sales surged to 11,245 units, an MoM increase of 4.88 percent over 10,722 units sold on March 21.

The sales figures indicate that the Hyundai Creta and Venue together contributed to almost half of the automaker’s domestic sales figures for the month.
