Bank Holidays In May: Banks Will Remain Closed For These 12 Days In May; Check Full List

The Month of May is going to witness a lot of Bank holidays, although some services, being online shall be available despite the holidays.

Banks to be closed for 12 days in May 2021

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar list, over 12 days in May, all the banks, both private and public shall be closed throughout the country.

Banks have been forced to cut short the working hours as well as staff attendance to 50% in the light of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts are the three brackets under which these holidays have been notified by the RBI.

In the month of May, in addition to all the Sundays, banks shall also remain close on the 2nd and the 4th Saturdays. As per the guidelines, the banks will operate from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Including the services like ATMs, mobile banking, and online banking services that are online seem to be available even during holidays.
