Nowadays the Mumbai headquartered carmaker, Mahindra and Mahindra seems to be very busy since the company is gearing to launch not one or two but three new products in the coming time.
Three New Products In Line
Yes, we are talking about the upcoming Mahindra XUV700, new Scorpio as well as the XUV300 7-seater.
The latest speculations suggest that the new Mahindra XUV300 7-seater will now be called as the XUV400.Â
If we talk about the positioning for this new XUV, the Mahindra XUV400 will sit between the XUV300 as well as the Scorpio with an expected price range of Rs 12 lakh onwards.
As per a leaked presentation in late 2019, the XUV400 could be launched this year.
However, the covid-19 spanner means the commercial availability is delayed.
So, it can be expected to be launched in 2022, along with the Scorpio and XUV700.
XUV400 Specifications
The XUV400 will have new bumpers, a slightly refreshed fascia, bigger wheel size and an elongated wheelbase.
This model will also be available in a 6-seat variant. The interior will also have upgrades with the addition of a powered driver’s seat and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system.
The second and third rows will also have AC vents. But the boot space of the car though will be negligible similar to the Kia Sonet 7-seater.
For the Engine, Mahindra will use 1.5-litre turbo units. The petrol variant will make close to 150hp.
While, the diesel should produce around 130hp. It will also have a choice of 6-speed manual as well as torque converters.
Mahindra XUV700 Specifications
If we talk about positioning for the XUV700 model, it will sit above the existing XUV500 and most probably replacing it.
It will be a rebadged version of the current flagship SUV, Alturas G4, according to the rumors.
This upcoming model could also replace the Alturas G4 as it was said to be discontinued in the not-so-distant future.
XUV700 will be offered with a petrol and a diesel engine with manual and automatic transmission choices.
While the top-end variants will be equipped with an all-wheel-drive system as an option.
For powertrains, the 2.2-litre diesel and the 2.0-litre petrol with six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter AT choices are to be given.
Compared to the existing XUV500, the Mahindra XUV700 will be a more premium upgrade inside and out.
Along with a redesigned front fascia, the exterior has an assortment of design updates.
The highlights would be sharper headlamps, new DRLs, a prominent kink at the rear when viewed from the sides, newly designed alloy wheels, revised LED tail lamps, new bumpers up front and rear, etc.
While the interior is subjected to a major overhaul as the dashboard and centre console get a new layout.
Basically, the activities are concentrated on the twin screens – one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the digital console.
Both with the size of 10 inches will give access to a slew of comfort, convenience, safety and assistive features including radar-based autonomous technologies.
The other features such as steering mounted controls, multiple drive modes, push-button start/stop, TPMS, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger and in-car connective tech will likely be on offer in the 2021 Mahindra XUV700.
