TCS Will Hire 40,000 More Freshers, Experienced Staff This Year; They Just Created New Hiring Record

TCS To Hire 40,000 New Candidates In Fiscal Year 2022

TCS had hired around 40,000 people last year and now has announced its plans to employ a similar number of candidates or more in the financial year 2022. 

The company has confirmed this news while making an announcement of its numbers in the fourth quarter which are quite impressive. The company also said that there are no supply-side challenges in the talent space that will meet the demand which is already increasing gradually. 

Milind Lakkad, chief HR officer, TCS said, “Our operating model is very sound. It is based on people coming in from campus. Our rigorous internal talent development goes on around the year and some people coming from the market.”

He also said that the national qualifier test is now taken four times in the year which helps the company to increase the hiring as and when needed. 

TCS Records Highest Ever Net Addition In A Quarter

A good chunk of the new hiring process will be conducted in the first quarter of the financial year 2022 but Lakkad also said that there is a possibility that it may also extend up to three quarters.

The company has also observed an all time low attrition rate of 7.2% in the January – March period and Lakkad has stated that it might go up in the upcoming quarter. As per Lakkad, the attrition rate will not go up to double digits as well; he also does not expect that there will be any major changes, only those that are manageable.

With an addition of 19,388 employees in Q4, TCS has also recorded its highest ever net addition in a quarter. 

As of now, the total workforce at TCS is  4,88,649, which is a net addition of 40,185 during the year. The rate of company’s campus hirings has been similar to last year and Lakkad also stated that there are no challenges on hiring from the market also.
