Hyundai Alcazar’s Official Details Are Out: Check Engine, Seating Capacity, USPs & More

The official images as well as the specification details of the latest SUV by Hyundai India, Alcazar, has been released. In the Indian portfolio, this new entrant shall join ranks with the likes of Tucson, Creta and Venue.

However unlike other SUVs in the Hyundai India product portfolio, with Alcazar Hyundai is foraying into the three-row segment.

While Alcazar is eying to build upon the success that Creta has enjoyed through the years, it is all set for the Indian launch and intends to create a a niche offering.

Specifications

It shall be offered, based on Creta, n two engine options – 3rd Gen Nu 2-litre petrol which will put out 159 Ps and has 191 Nm of torque and U2 1.5-litre diesel has 115 Ps and torque of 250 Nm.

Both, the petrol and the diesel engine, shall be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission unit. However, with the six-speed automatic unit, Hyundai claims that better performance and fuel efficiency will be offered. It is because of the reduction in losses during acceleration which is caused due to the super flat torque converter.

However, what sets it apart in true sense is the ride comfort it offers along with the features. A plush ride experience is offered by the hydraulic rebound stopper in front strut due to better rebound control.

In addition to this, different steering effort mapping for Eco, City and Sport modes will be offered by the drive mode selection.

Largest Wheelbase In The Segment

Just like other newer Hyundai products, a large infotainment screen, air purifier, wireless charging etc. can be expected despite none of it being officially revealed in the feature list.

With a generous wheelbase which is claimed to be the largest in the segment, the Autogiant seeks to provide more leg space to passengers in the middle and last row. The SUV shall be offered in six and seven-set configurations.

Alcazar gives a premium feels, owing to the middle row console armrest, sliding seats and similar highlights.

The car, can be exported to select foreign markets at a later stage, but it is primarily meant for the Indian market and the launch can be expected soon.
