Covid-19 Vaccine To Be Given At Public And Private Workplaces From This Date

The Centre has announced that the Coronavirus vaccination will be allowed to be given to employees at their workplaces, be it government or private. As per reports, States/UTs have been told to prepare for the launch by this Sunday, April 11, 2021.

These vaccine shots will be available for all employees who are more than 45 years of age.

Apparently, this decision was taken given the huge demand to allow the access to vaccination to all adults. The aim is also to make the coronavirus vaccine to be accessible to more people and be quality focused.

Recently, we reported to you that as the second phase of vaccination starts, two revered software giants in the country, Infosys and Accenture informed that they would cover the Covid-19 vaccination costs for all of their eligible employees, in extension to their immediate families.

Also, a total of over 10 lakh Indian employees, along with their immediate dependents to be covered for their vaccination charges.

Workplaces To Be Tagged As COVID Vaccination Centre (CVC)

As per a letter by the health secretary, “With support of the State Governments/UT administration, the efforts have been to consistently make the vaccination drive more pragmatic and also more acceptable and purposeful to the beneficiaries.”

The letter also states that to increase the access of vaccines to the people of this age group, i.e. 45 yrs and above, COVID-19 vaccination sessions will be organized at public or private workplaces.

However, these workplaces should have about 100 eligible & willing beneficiaries. These workplaces will be tagged with an existing COVID Vaccination Centre (CVC), as per the letter.
