Checkout the top trending smartphones from the week. Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Pro have been unveiled at the major Mi launch event alongside Mi 11 Lite 5G and Mi Smart Band 6. The company added three new phones to the Mi 11 series. The first Mi 11 debuted in China in December last year, which was launched globally last month. Xiaomi confirmed Mi 11 series availability in India, expected to bring two or three phones to the country for premium segments.

OnePlus Nord 2 launch is on cards, may happen by May. Some major OnePlus Nord 2 details are out, and for the first time, a OnePlus smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek chipset. OnePlus Nord 2 launch will happen in Q2 2021 and it will be powered by MediaTek’s top flagship, the Dimensity 1200 5G chipset. It’s the first time a OnePlus phone will come without a Qualcomm chipset.

Mi 11 Ultra 

Mi 11 Ultra has been making news since launch. It features a quad-curved 6.81-inch 2K WQHD+ E4 AMOLED display with a 1.1-inch (126×294 pixels) AMOLED secondary display at the back which supports always-on mode. Mi 11 Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Mi 11 Ultra packs in a triple rear camera including a 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 primary wide-angle sensor.

It further has two 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 ultra-wide-angle and tele-macro camera sensors with an f/2.2 lens and a 128-degree Field of View (FoV) Mi 11 Ultra supports 8K video recording at 24fps with all the three sensors. Mi 11 Ultra is backed  by a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired and wireless fast charging support, and 10W reverse wireless charging.  

Mi 11 Pro

Next on list, Mi 11 Pro is a toned-down version of the top-end Mi 11 Ultra. The main difference is no secondary display and a watered down camera system. Mi 11 Pro has the same display as the Mi 11 Ultra supporting HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Mi 11 Pro is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and is IP68 dust- and water-resistant as well. Mi 11 Pro features a triple rear camera setup with the same primary 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 primary sensor with an f/1.95 lens and OIS. 

The phone further packs a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary camera with an f/2.4 lens and a 123-degree FoV and an 8-megapixel tele-macro lens with an f/3.4 lens, OIS, a 50x digital zoom, and a 5x optical zoom. Mi 11 Pro also comes with a 20-megapixel camera upfront. Mi 11 Pro houses a 5,000mAh battery which supports 67W wired and wireless fast charging along with an in-display fingerprint sensor and Harmon Kardon stereo speakers.

Redmi Gaming Smartphone

Redmi Gaming phone is coming soon expected in April only. Redmi GM Lu Weibing teased the first-ever gaming smartphone recently. Xiaomi already has a separate entity Black Shark focused on gaming smartphones only. Now Redmi will be coming up with its own gaming-centric device. Popular Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station leaked a few key specifications about the upcoming Redmi gaming smartphone. The device is said to run on the top-end MediaTek chip, Dimensity 1200 with an OLED panel upfront. The Redmi Gaming smartphone will offer some top-notch seamless performance at an affordable attractive price.

The gaming smartphone by Redmi is tipped be run on MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 1200 processor with a flat OLED screen on top. It’s going to be a hole-punch display with the tiny hole in the middle. The latest generation Redmi K40 series came with Samsung E4 AMOLED displays, which was awarded “the best flat panel in the industry” by DisplayMate Technologies labs. The Redmi K40 displays got an A+ score, the maximum a device can score.

Samsung Galaxy F12, Galaxy F02s

Samsung confirmed the launch of two devices under the F-series- Galaxy F12 and Galaxy F02s. The devices will be unveiled on April 5. Galaxy F12 will come with a 6.5-inch Infinity-V 90Hz display, quad-cameras with 48MP ISOCELL GM2 as the main sensor. It is said to be powered by Exynos 850, 4GB, 6GB RAM up to 128GB storage, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and 6,000mAh battery with 15W charging.

Galaxy F02s, the entry-level smartphone will feature a 6.5-inch display, Snapdragon 450 chipset, triple-cameras with 13MP main sensor and 5,000mAh battery. The device will be priced at around Rs 9,000 in the country.

Mi 11 Lite 5G

Mi 11 Lite 5G is currently the most affordable phone in the Mi 11 series. It features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Mi 11 Lite 5G is powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G SoC paired with Adreno 642 GPU. Mi 11 Lite 5G runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top. Mi 11 Lite 5G has a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 5-megapixel macro sensor.

Upfront, Mi 11 Lite packs a 20-megapixel camera. Mi 11 Lite houses a 4,250mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Redmi Note 10 5G

Redmi Note 10 5G launch globally could happen soon including India. Redmi Note 10 5G comes a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a punch-hole cutout, 20:9 aspect ratio, 1,100nits brightness, 90Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and 500nits brightness. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 4GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage alongside expandable memory. The phone runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12 custom skin on top. 

In terms of optics, Redmi Note 10 5G comes with a triple rear camera system featuring a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. Upfront the device has an 8MP snapper, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR blaster and Hi-Res audio. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

OnePlus Nord 2

OnePlus Nord 2 launch is on cards, may happen by May. Some major OnePlus Nord 2 details are out, and for the first time, a OnePlus smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek chipset. OnePlus Nord 2 launch will happen in Q2 2021 and it will be powered by MediaTek’s top flagship, the Dimensity 1200 5G chipset. It’s the first time a OnePlus phone will come without a Qualcomm chipset. OnePlus Nord continues to be a best-seller in it’s category. The upcoming OnePlus phone will run on MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.

It will pair with upto 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, improved cameras, display and battery. OnePlus Nord 2 will probably feature a 64MP main camera inside a quad camera system. The Dimensity 1200 chipset is built on a 6nm node and features Cortex A78 and A55 cores. OnePlus Nord 2 will have a faster Fluid AMOLED display with a refresh of 120Hz instead of the 90Hz on the original Nord. 

iPhone SE 3 5G

iPhone SE 3 launch may not happen this year, as per a new report. Apple is reportedly not planning to release the next-generation Apple iPhone SE model in 2021. The device will launch in early 2022, the report marks. Also, iPhone SE 3 might support 5G connectivity. The company may unveil the iPhone SE Plus version this year instead of the iPhone SE 2020 successor. More iPhone SE 3 and iPhone 12S Pro concept renders came out last month. Apple is said to be working on a number of new phones apart from iPhone 13 / iPhone 12S series. 

iPhone SE 3 price has been tipped as well, may start at $499 (around Rs 36,400). The company is working on a Plus version for 2021 too, iPhone SE Plus. iPhone SE 3 will essentially be iPhone SE 2021) offering some significant upgrades over iPhone SE (2020) and the original iPhone SE. The leak suggests a full-display without a home button.
