Last year, first ever premium hatchback Altroz was launched by Tata Motors. Altroz, which currently competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo in the segment, has received a 5 Star rating in Global NCAP crash test and is the safest car in the premium hatchback segment.

With a very unique design, several images of Altroz hatchback can be seen on the internet, but now an image has been rendered which is actually based on the Altroz premium hatchback.

Render Image Of Altroz

The artist who has shared the render image is BINNY ZACHARIA, he has shared so on his instagram page. Altroz is based on ALFA platform, which starts from Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture. It is highly flexible platform, flexible enough to accommodate different body types. Tata plans to use this platform only for their upcoming models. SUV, sedan, hatchback and even MPV body types can be accommodated on this platform. Also upcoming micro SUV HBX is based on this platform.

Altroz has sleek and swept back headlamps, according to the render. There are LED DRLs and fog lamps are placed lower to it. Front looks muscular, it is the side where the major difference is seen and rear bumper however looks slightly different from the regular hatchback. Overall length of the car is increased, so as to accommodate the third row of seats it being an MPV. It looks like the wheelbase on this render remains the same as hatchback.

Blacked out alloy wheels along with the red callipers give this MPV a sporty look. The ground clearance, in comparison to the regular hatchback , seems less. The design of the boot remains the same as the hatchback and there is roof rail on.

Specifications

It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. A 1.2 litre, three cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates 84 Bhp and 113 Nm of torque. A 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine which generates 89 Bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. There is a manual gearbox with both engines.

A turbocharged petrol version of Altroz, has recently been introduced by Tata. Powered by a 1.2 litre, turbo petrol engine, it is known as Altroz i-Turbo. Available with a manual gearbox, it generates 108 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. There are expectations that in future it will come with an automatic transmission option for Altroz. The render seen here is a product of artists’ imagination and Tata currently has plans for launching such a product in the market

Tata has no plan!
