Toyota Kirloskar, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese carmaker, recently introduced the Urban Cruiser (Re-badged Maruti Vitara Brezza). Toyota does not offer a vehicle that sits between the Urban Cruiser and the Innova in India.

 In 2015, Toyota began producing vehicles based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. With the TNGA platform on board, Toyota could handle vehicles of different sizes. On the other hand, India has yet to receive a product that will help Toyota introduce TNGA to Indian customers.

Besides this, the carmaker has a handful of new products that will hit our shores in the coming years. Toyota is currently focusing on the 12 lakh Toyota SUV that could outperform the competition!

Toyota Might Share Its Products With Maruti 

The partnership between Toyota and Maruti has enabled Toyota to launch rebadged Maruti cars in different car markets. The Toyota Glanza was a re-badged version of the Maruti Baleno.

Similarly, the Maruti Urban Cruiser is the re-badged version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. 

The launch of this platform could also support Maruti Suzuki, which currently shares two of its products with Toyota, the Urban Cruiser and the Glanza. Toyota, on the other hand, may share its products with Maruti this time. Maruti may also be able to make an impact in this segment with the aid of Toyota.

The SUV would most likely be based on the RAV4’s design language, which is based on the TNGA platform. Most other rivals offer connected car technology, so the car may come with it.

Front and rear parking sensors, as well as a 360-degree parking camera, may be included in the vehicle. On the safety front, ESP and six airbags may be available.

The Rs 12 lakh Toyota SUV is expected to be powered by Maruti’s 1.5-litre K15B smart hybrid petrol engine. Maruti is also expected to release a diesel engine.

Kia also made a grand debut in India by launching the first Kia car in India, i.e. Kia Seltos SUV. It is set to receive its second set of feature update and the new model will reportedly become available for retail in the country starting late next month. Seltos caters to a wide spectrum of customers and gradually it emerged as the bestselling SUV in the country.

Hyundai Creta on other hand is the best selling model in its class and the competition is going to heat up in the coming months as manufacturers are working on new models. Options are essential to Indians, and the Hyundai Creta has a lot of them. You can choose from three different engine choices with the Hyundai Creta. In India, proper pricing is a critical component of any product’s performance. Hyundai doing quite well in terms of overall sales. Hyundai has a huge network to back up the Hyundai Creta.
