It’s almost been a year since the news about Reliance Jio working on an affordable 5G smartphone has been circulating in the rumor mill.
Reliance Jio 5G Smartphone Launch Date
So far, the launch date for this new smartphone is not revealed yet.
Although, the latest reports revealed that the Jio 5G phone launch could happen at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM).
The meeting is expected to take place in the second half of 2021, most probably in August or September month.
Apart from 5G smartphone, Reliance is also planning to launch a new laptop named the Reliance JioBook at the same event.
Recently, the key Reliance JioBook specifications and design surfaced with an affordable price tag.
Reliance Jio Phone 5G Smartphone Anticipated Specifications
So far, we have very little about what the Reliance Jio Phone 5G has in store for us.
From the existing information, it is deducted that the Jio 5G phone price in India could be around Rs 2,500.
According to the price, it’s expected specifications will also be fairly entry-level.
It is expected to run on a Qualcomm 4xx series or some unannounced low-cost MediaTek 5G chipset.
UNISOC is also another alternative, but so far, the company doesn’t have a 5G smartphone SoC.
Due to Jio’s partnership with Google, it is expected to run on a new version of Android.
Reliance JioBook Features And Specifications
The new Reliance JioBook is expected to ship with a custom Android version instead of X86 operating systems.
There are speculations about it running online a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset combined with the Snapdragon X12 LTE modem.
The existing Reliance JioBook prototypes have been spotted online with a Windows Key.
They are very likely to be replaced in subsequent revisions and are tipped to feature a screen with 1366×768 resolution.
If we talk about the memory and storage capacity, the Reliance JioBook will come with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC storage.
While a higher specced variant could make it up to 4GB and 64GB.
Other features may include a mini HDMI connector for video output, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more.
The thing will be more clear about both the JioBook and 5G smartphone, once its launch date approaches.
